The misterious Caribbean island
Bermuda, officially the Bermuda Islands or the Somers Isles is a British overseas territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. Located off the east coast of the United States, it is situated around 1.770 km-1.100 miles northeast of Miami, Florida, and 1.350 km-840 miles south of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Its capital city is Hamilton.
You go to heaven if you want - I`d rather stay here in Bermuda, so gushed Mark Twain in the 19th century, and Bermuda`s promise of sun and sea still lures vacationers to its shores. These days celebs like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones call Bermuda home, and millionaire executives pop over for a little R&R. The island makes for a delightful getaway vacation. If you`re looking for peace and quiet, Bermuda has pampering resorts to soothe your soul. Romantics will find atmospheric inns with four-poster beds and candlelight dining. Or perhaps you want to really let loose. Jump on a motor scooter and let the wind whip through your hair. Go out on the town and dance the night away in the seaside capital, the City of Hamilton.
The island is surrounded by a fantastic coral reef that harbors colorful fish and has ensnared scores of shipwrecks, making for memorable diving and snorkeling at spots like Elbow Beach in Paget Parish.

ATRACTII
Elsewhere, the crystal-clear waters of Southampton Parish provide perfect conditions for kayaking and yachting. The offerings on land are splendid as well. You can play a round at a world-class golf course, hike peaceful trails and sunbathe on glorious pink-sand beaches. Or stroll the crooked streets of the colonial settlement of the Town of St George, Britain`s oldest surviving town in the New World, which is so well preserved it`s been made a World Heritage site.
Bermuda has delightfull beaches such as: Elbow Beach, which some say made Bermuda a vacation legend it`s tops for fun in the sun. Horseshoe Bay, Southampton, one-quarter mile of pink sands this is the beach that often appears in those Sunday travel supplements. Warwick Long Bay, the pinkest of the pink sandy beaches, and also the sun strip containing the longest stretch of sands.
Great towns and villages are Hamilton, the colony`s capital, in pretty pastels and whites and the center for shopping. St. George, Bermuda`s first capital, founded in 1612 a town filled with intriguing old sights.
Ace attractions, in Ireland Island, a cruise-ship dock and tourist village, site of the Royal Naval Dockyard and the Bermuda Maritime Museum. Bermuda Railway Trail, stretching along the old train right of way for 21 miles and crossing three islands that make up the Bermuda archipelago. Historic Buildings Fort St. Catherine, at St. George now a museum, it towers over the beach where the shipwrecked Sea Venture crew first landed in 1609. The Commissioner`s House, at the Royal Naval Dockyards in Sandy`s Parish once the symbol of British power in the mid-Atlantic, this magnificent building has been restored into what`s now one of the most interesting museums in Bermuda.
St. David`s Island, part of St. George`s Parish, this remote little island is often missed by many visitors, but it represents Bermuda at its most authentic. Remote, Natural settings Bermuda still has some oases that aren`t overrun with visitors. One such place is the Heydon Trust, along Somerset Road, a sanctuary for migratory birds. It`s a true walk through nature, with flowering bushes and citrus orchards. Crystal Caves, Hamilton Parish Bermuda has the highest concentration of limestone caves in the world, many of them with echo patterns and sedimentary deposits that some spelunkers consider mystical. Collectively these caves form one of the island`s major natural wonderlands. Their surreal formations took millions of years to come into being, and the great stalactites and stalagmites have a grothic grandeur. Crystal Caves, at Bailey`s Bay, are among the best, and also among the few whose tunnels and chambers can be navigated by laypersons as part of a guided tour. Discovered in 1907, these caves house crystal-clear Cahow Lake.
